Maintenance Manager

Your new role

You will be Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager the Maintenance/Facilities Manager will effectively manage the Maintenance and facilities of the site. You will maximise production output by ensuring printing presses and finishing equipment is fit for purpose, operational and serviceable always. To ensure all facilities meet site and audit expectations. Some of your main duties will be.

  • Plan, organise and oversee project work such as press/machinery installation and decommissioning etc.
  • Organise and manage a preventative maintenance programme to ensure all equipment is serviceable and in good working order.
  • Respond to press/machine breakdowns and other electrical/mechanical failures, ensuring minimum downtime.
  • Oversee site services such as the building’s electrical and plumbing services.
  • Monitor the use, inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies and equipment, and initiate reordering when necessary, ensuring cost savings of parts and services where possible.
  • Communicate directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need a mechanical or electrical qualification and at least five years of experience working in a manufacturing environment. You will also need previous experience in mentorship and management, as you will be leading a team of maintenance technicians and contractors. In addition, you will need excellent planning, organising and communication skills, as you will be responsible for scheduling and reporting on maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and regulations, and troubleshooting and resolving technical issues and breakdowns. You will also need the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, as well as the ability to lead complex problem-solving and cost/capacity improvement projects with cross-functional teams. You will also need the ability to present ideas and concepts clearly and effectively.
