Mechanical Maintenance Fitter

Your new role

As a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, you’ll be an integral part of the station’s maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mechanical systems and equipment. You’ll work across a wide range of plant components—from pneumatic and hydraulic valves to large rotating machinery—supporting both planned and reactive maintenance activities.


What you'll need to succeed

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Mechanical craft qualification or equivalent
  • Experience in power station or heavy process industry maintenance
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and follow maintenance procedures
  • Full Category B driving licence
  • Hands-on experience with machining, fitting, welding, and workshop equipment
Desirable:

  • 2+ years in Thermal, Hydro, or Renewable generation plant maintenance
  • Certification in lifting/slinging equipment and manual handling
  • Knowledge of LOTO and permitting systems
  • Experience with Maintenance, Environmental, and Safety Management systems
  • Technical services or civil works experience
  • Contractor or staff supervision experience
