Your new role

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring compliance with PAYE, PRSI, and other statutory obligations, and maintaining accurate payroll records. They will prepare and submit VAT returns, reconcile VAT accounts, and resolve any discrepancies. The role also involves recording and reconciling daily financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and maintaining general ledgers. Additionally, the Bookkeeper will assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes, support the preparation of financial reports and budgets, and ensure accurate record-keeping using accounting software such as Quickbooks.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a bookkeeping or similar accounting role, with strong proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks. Attention to detail, accuracy in financial data entry, and strong organisational skills are essential. Good communication skills are also important for liaising with staff, clients, and external bodies. A relevant qualification such as an Accounting Technician course (ATI) or another related accounting or finance certification is beneficial, and the ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality is key.
