A leading public transport provider with a strong presence across Ireland is seeking a qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join its Cork-based maintenance team. Your new role

As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of a fleet of buses and coaches. Your duties will include diagnosing faults, conducting preventative maintenance, preparing vehicles for roadworthiness tests, and ensuring all work complies with safety and regulatory standards. You’ll work as part of a collaborative team in a modern workshop equipped with the latest diagnostic tools and technologies.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A recognised Heavy Vehicle Mechanic qualification (National Craft Certificate or equivalent).
  • Proven experience working with heavy vehicles, ideally in a public transport or fleet environment.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • A full clean driving licence (Category D licence is a distinct advantage).
  • A proactive attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with electronic systems and diagnostic equipment.
