Your new company

Your new employer is a leading Irish semi-state service provider. They are committed to growth, innovation and sustainability continues to be top of their agenda. They now require a Tender Delivery Procurement Buyer to join their team on a 6-month basis.

Your new role

This role supports the goals of both the business unit and the Tender Delivery Team (TDT) by ensuring tenders are delivered efficiently, on schedule, and in full compliance with procurement policies and regulations. Responsibilities include maintaining a high standard of customer service, managing procurement processes, and escalating issues related to tenders and purchase-to-pay (P2P) systems when necessary. The successful candidate will be expected to adhere strictly to internal controls, policies, and EU public procurement rules, while supporting effective delivery of the approved firm Demand Plan.
The position also involves processing purchase orders to meet service level targets and key performance indicators, and ensuring procedures align with the relevant governance frameworks. Collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders is key to identifying opportunities to improve tender processes, enhance quality, and support continuous improvement across all procurement activities.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have at least two to three years of experience in a similar role, ideally with exposure to public procurement practices. A relevant qualification is essential, as is demonstrated experience working effectively within team-based environments and collaborating across various procurement categories. The role requires a strong ability to work cross-functionally and to analyse, manipulate, and report on data to support decision-making.
Proficiency in P2P procurement processes and executing compliant tender activities is important, including familiarity with framework drawdown mechanisms and managing stakeholder queries and escalations. A solid understanding of contract law, including the fundamentals of Irish contract and tax legislation, is needed. The role also requires experience with Oracle systems and digital procurement tools, such as e-sourcing platforms and e-tendering systems, to manage contracting activities efficiently.
