Your new company

An excellent opportunity has come up for a permanent HR Manager to join a not-for-profit based in Co. Wicklow. In this role you will report to the Operations Director and will manage the HR team.

Your new role

As HR Manager, you will provide the delivery of a professional HR service to the organisation.

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management of the HR Department, ensuring that it is managed effectively and responsive to organisational needs. The management of the HR function includes recruitment and selection, talent management, employee relations, absence management, performance management, compensation and benefits, organisation planning and development.
  • You will cultivate strong and trusting relationships with management and staff members and will be responsible for the compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements of the HR function.
  • You will promote and build on communication, engagement, talent and retention and will promote employee wellbeing so that employees remain engaged, productive and effective.
  • You will manage and support the HR team, ensuring that best practice is followed.
  • Maintain an excellent standard of service delivery within the HR department and ensure that the organisation operates within the context of good employment practice.
  • Provide direction and leadership in a manner which is value adding, impactful and collaborative.
  • Be proactive in team working and maintain clear channels of communication throughout the organisation.
  • Provide pragmatic and consistent guidance to staff members and management, ensuring consistent interpretation and implementation of HR Policies and legislation.
  • Adhere to all external/internal monitoring e.g. HIQA Inspections, internal audits, peer reviews and compliance with code of conduct/internal audits.
  • Liaise with staff members in relation to HR queries as they arise.
  • Keep abreast of legislative developments and implement any changes as required.
  • Ensure that HR policies and practices are applied consistently and provide direction and guidance on same.

What you'll need to succeed

Requirements for this role:

  • You will be a strong critical thinker, and will possess key process skills such as consulting, problem solving, evaluation, and will demonstrate success in translating complex organisational needs into strategies.
  • You will be proactive, providing direction, leadership and pragmatic advice, and will collaborate with the Operational team, the Finance department and the Operations Director.
  • Degree in Business or Human Resources Management
  • Minimum 2 years HR experience working in healthcare setting or similar, and in a senior HR position
  • Excellent people manager, strong influencer and decision maker
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law, HR policies and HR core processes
  • Strong organisational, analytical, problem solving and planning skills
  • Experience dealing with trade unions or IR issues
  • Excellent IT proficiency
