Your new company

A leading public sector organisation responsible for delivering essential services across Ireland is seeking to enhance its Finance Transformation capabilities. With a strong commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community impact, this organisation is investing in digital finance tools and systems to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

Your new role

This newly created role sits within the Chief Finance Office, reporting to the Corporate Planning and Performance Senior Manager. You’ll be instrumental in upgrading financial models and automating key finance processes. The initial focus will be on updating the forecasting model, followed by work on tax and IT-related projects. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across Finance and IT, contributing to the organisation’s digital transformation journey.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing and debugging financial models and templates
  • Automating financial workflows using Excel (VBA/macros), Power Query, and Power BI
  • Supporting forecasting, budgeting, and planning processes
  • Facilitating stakeholder workshops and gathering requirements
  • Documenting processes and creating support guides
  • Providing mentoring and go-live support to users

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Accountant (or QBE with strong financial process knowledge)
  • 5–7 years’ experience in financial modelling, analysis, or transformation
  • Advanced Excel skills including VBA/macros, nested formulas, and error handling
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, DAX, and SharePoint would be ideal.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience with Oracle (OEBS) is a plus but not a necessity
  • Ability to work independently and resolve complex issues

What you'll get in return

  • Opportunity to join a high-impact transformation team
  • Exposure to strategic finance and IT projects
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Competitive salary (€60K–€70K depending on experience)
  • Potential pathway to a full-time role
  • Supportive team culture with cross-location collaboration
