Finance Manager – Profit, Loss and Budget | Co. Mayo | Manufacturing Industry | Competitive salary & benefits
This position will support the Ireland Finance Director in driving value-based decision-making and delivering strategic projects. Operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will champion change, optimise team performance, and lead Operational Excellence and AI-driven digitalisation initiatives. Acting as deputy for the Ireland Finance Director when required, this role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and global finance operations. Key responsibilities include:
Financial Operations Management
- Oversee all aspects of plant financial operations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of monthly performance and forecasts
- Deliver value-added analysis for major variances and partner with budget owners to implement corrective actions
- Identify and communicate risks and opportunities proactively.
Annual Planning
- Manage P&L and balance sheet processes for Business Planning, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
- Coordinate with plant management and procurement teams for key inputs and approvals.
- Prepare detailed analyses for communication with regional and global finance teams.
- Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with corporate standards.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors as required.
- Manage financial aspects of non-concentrated business models and reporting routines.
- Provide analytics to optimise supply point strategies.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and regional finance teams.
- Drive process improvements and standardisation across finance operations.
- Partner on PMO processes to deliver productivity savings.
- Support strategic projects, including SAP upgrade implementation

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree, preferably complemented by a professional qualification such as CA, CIMA, ACCA, or CPA (or equivalent). They will bring over 10 years of experience in finance within a medium to large-scale manufacturing environment, demonstrating strong knowledge of SAP and integrated manufacturing systems. A proven track record in business partnering and influencing senior management is essential, along with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment and effectively manage ambiguity.
