Senior Estimator – Electrical Contracting
Hays Recruitment is seeking a Senior Estimator to join a leading electrical contracting company in Cork. This role offers the chance to shape high-profile projects across the Industrial, Pharmaceutical, and Commercial sectors by delivering accurate and competitive costings that drive success.
Key Responsibilities
- Review technical drawings and design documentation to provide precise project costing.
- Lead the preparation of detailed and competitive cost estimates for large-scale projects
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine and finalise estimates
- Analyse project requirements and assess subcontractor quotations
- Coordinate with project teams to source materials and ensure bids align with company objectives
- Manage tenders while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Qualifications & Skills
- Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying
- Proficiency in estimation software, cost modelling, and budgeting tools
- Ability to interpret technical and design drawings accurately
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in electrical contracting
- Strong analytical, organisational, and project management abilities
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for supplier and client collaboration
- Previous experience in the Industrial, Pharmaceutical, or Commercial sectors is highly desirable.
- High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
