Your new role
- As a Civil Technician, you will develop not only your technical skills but also your management and commercial skills.
- You will be proficient in the preparation of civil infrastructure drawings / details for site development, roads infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, public health infrastructure, etc.
- As part of the Civil Engineering team, you will be required to deliver project drawings to the required technical standards in a timely manner reporting to the project manager.
- You will also be responsible for overseeing and checking standards on project drawings by junior technicians.
- The ideal candidate will have experience of producing 2D drawings in Autocad and 3D model designs in Autodesk Civil 3D.
- You will also be required to carry out site inspections and attend Design Team meetings.
- Your work will be carried out in accordance with the company ISO procedures.
- Prepare risk assessments, health & safety plans.
- Effective communication skills to facilitate written and verbal interaction with colleagues, team members, contractors and clients.
- Demonstrate efficient work practices, working within budget, tracking extra services and ensuring the effective use of resources.
- Develop the skills of staff that report to you through mentoring, delegation and training.
- Ensure that quality of output is maintained at a high level.
- Assist engineers in the production of engineering drawings and schedules.
What you'll need to succeed
- A Higher Certificate (NFQ Level 6) in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Knowledge and experience of AutoCad 2D & AutoDesk Civil 3D is essential.
- Knowledge and experience of Autotrack and Causeway Flow is beneficial.
- Leadership skills to plan, manage and direct resources required to solve complex problems in multidisciplinary teams.
- High level of commercial understanding and application.
- A successful track record working closely in partnership with clients and contractors and other members of design teams.
- Strong communication skills both oral and written.
- Appreciation of the full Project Delivery Process. A positive, proactive approach with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios.
- Commitment to CPD and competence.
