Structural Engineer required for a well known engineering consultancy, based in Galway or Limerick.


Your new company
As a Structural Engineer you will work with the engineering teams across our various offices on a range of major projects. Our client work on a broad range of projects across such sectors as healthcare, education, conservation, retail, residential, civil infrastructure and environmental. They are looking for an Engineer with passion, skill, and a desire to learn to join our team to deliver the high-profile engineering projects.

Your new role
As a Senior Engineer you will be responsible for the technical, managerial and commercial aspects of your projects. Effective delivery of projects to include preparation of all contract documentation, project costing, budgeting, programming, attend / chair site meetings, manage contractual issues, site monitoring to ensure compliance / site supervision, contribute to the handover and take over of completed projects. Prepare risk assessments, health & safety plans. Check concept and technical correctness of work prepared by staff reporting to you. Effective communication skills to facilitate written and verbal interaction with colleagues, team members, contractors and Clients. Preparation of fee proposals and submissions for approval.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have an honours degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent, have a minimum of 5 years post graduate experience, Chartered status with Engineers Ireland or working towards this. You will have a strong understanding of engineering principles and technical focus, ability to apply engineering principles and codes of practice to solve technical problems. Excellent conceptual design abilities to provide robust and economical solutions. Significant base of IT skills including AutoCAD, Structural design software such as CADS, SCIA, Fastrack, Tekla, TEDDS, etc. Understanding of the Irish regulatory and policy issues. Implement full Project Delivery Process including GCC Contracts.
