Site Engineer Opportunity with a Large Civil Engineering Contractor in Cork

You will be joining a well-established civil engineering contractor with a strong presence across Ireland. The company is known for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across sectors such as roads, utilities, and water services. With a growing pipeline of work in the Cork region, they are seeking a Site Engineer to join their experienced team and contribute to the successful delivery of ongoing and upcoming projects.
Your new role
As Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of site operations. You will be responsible for setting out, quality control, and ensuring that works are carried out in accordance with project specifications and health & safety standards. You will work closely with the Site Agent and Project Manager to ensure the smooth delivery of the project.Key responsibilities include:
- Setting out and surveying using GPS and total station equipment
- Interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Monitoring site progress and maintaining accurate records
- Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards
- Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and the wider project team
- Supporting the preparation of reports and documentation
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within civil engineering
- Proficiency in setting out and surveying equipment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Full driving licence and flexibility to travel to site locations
