A senior Electrical Engineer required in Louth to assist with the Desi and Management of Electrical Switchgear

Your New Company

Due to continued expansion, they are now seeking experienced Electrical Engineers to join their growing team.

Your New Role
As an Electrical Engineer specialising in switchgear, you will play a key role in designing, testing, and maintaining advanced electrical switchgear systems used across industries such as manufacturing, infrastructure, and power generation. You will work closely with engineers and technicians to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of critical electrical distribution systems.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Design & Development
  • Produce detailed electrical designs and schematics for switchgear systems.
  • Select appropriate components, prepare layout drawings, and calculate system specifications (voltage, current, power ratings).
  • Manage technical submittals and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate

Testing & Troubleshooting
  • Conduct testing and performance analysis of switchgear systems to ensure full compliance with safety and performance standards.
  • Identify and resolve any technical issues arising during testing or operation.

Installation & Commissioning
  • Work closely with installation teams to oversee system installation and commissioning.
  • Provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and project specifications.
  • Verify correct configuration and wiring of all equipment.

Maintenance & Upgrades
  • Identify opportunities for preventative maintenance and system enhancements.
  • Recommend upgrades to improve system performance and operational efficiency.

Compliance & Standards
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ensure designs and installations meet all safety and regulatory requirements.

Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare engineering reports, specifications, user manuals, and other technical documents.
  • Maintain accurate records of design changes, testing outcomes, and maintenance activities.

Team Collaboration
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to both internal teams and clients.


What You Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical power systems and switchgear components.
  • Experience in switchgear testing.
  • Data centre experience is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
