BI Reporting Lead | Perm | Fully onsite | Shannon, Co Clare
Your New Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced BI Reporting Lead to take ownership of enterprise-wide reporting, analytics, and data governance capabilities. In this role, you will architect and deliver modern reporting solutions built on a cloud-based Data Lakehouse, enabling scalable self‑service analytics and empowering business teams with timely, actionable insights.
You will serve as a key partner to technology and business stakeholders, shaping the strategic direction of reporting architecture, data quality, and visualisation standards across the organisation.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and deliver enterprise BI reporting platforms and visualisation solutions using modern BI tools and cloud data technologies.
- Lead ingestion and transformation of data from SAP ERP, Salesforce, and other enterprise systems using Databricks, PySpark, and SQL.
- Structure and govern raw, analytical, and curated data layers to ensure optimal availability and performance for reporting.
- Develop and implement data‑driven ETL frameworks to support profiling, cleansing, transformation, and consumption.
- Drive adoption of self‑service analytics through ThoughtSpot, SQL endpoints, and other reporting interfaces.
- Establish strong data cataloguing, lineage, access controls, and security governance using modern cloud governance tooling.
- Oversee DevOps and CI/CD processes for BI deployments, including Azure DevOps and Terraform.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into value‑driven reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
- Provide visual management to track data quality, platform usage, and business value realisation.
- Ensure financial discipline by monitoring BI program costs and optimising spending.
- Promote continuous improvement and maintain BI architecture playbooks, reusable templates, and standards.
Key Requirements for the Role
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years designing and delivering BI/reporting solutions in complex, global environments.
- Hands-on experience with cloud data lakehouse technologies (Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Data Lake).
- Proficiency in ETL/data transformation using PySpark and SQL.
- Practical experience with BI tools such as ThoughtSpot, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Strong background in data ingestion from SAP ERP using tools such as SLT Replication and Datasphere.
- Knowledge of data governance, cataloguing, and security (e.g., Databricks Unity Catalogue, RBAC, Azure Key Vault).
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or Terraform.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics and present to senior stakeholders.
Desirable Requirements
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or related).
- Relevant certifications (Azure, Databricks, BI tools).
- Experience developing data‑driven ETL frameworks.
- Familiarity with data privacy and compliance requirements (GDPR, ITAR, DFARS, etc.).
- Experience with enterprise data cataloguing and lineage tools.
- Prior experience leading cross‑functional global teams and managing third‑party vendors.
