They are currently hiring driven Mechanical Design Engineers who aspire to become Senior Engineers with the right support and to lead on important, challenging projects.
Your New Role
For this role, they are looking for a hands-on and focused engineering consultant who can uphold their approach to quality-driven success.
You will have 3 years of Building Services Consultancy Design experience with BIM experience advantageous. If you can use initiative and have the aforementioned qualities, you can pave your way for a successful career with this consultancy.
Your responsibilities:
- Engineering Design and Design Management tasks on Projects as part of an integrated project team.
- Design and specification of Mechanical Engineering Solutions to current regulations and design standards.
- Working directly with clients and project engineers to define project requirements and develop technical solutions.
- Develop and agree on design processes and design deliverables.
- Pre-Construction Engineering activities and the production of information, including design development, construction details, service coordination, technical submittals, subcontracts, etc.
- Provide technical support to the estimating, procurement, commercial, and project bid teams.
- Provide off-site technical support to construction teams on projects.
What You Need to Succeed
Qualifications:
- Minimum Degree qualification in Mechanical Design Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of Mechanical Building Services Consultancy Design experience.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint etc.)
- Autodesk Applications (AutoCAD/Design Review/ Revit MEP)
- Competent in the design and specification of mechanical building services in a variety of industries and in project types, sizes and complexity.
- Experience in delivering detailed designs through a full design cycle.
- Knowledge and experience in the following Mechanical design areas: Water Services, Heating / LTHW, HVAC, Natural Gas systems, above ground drainage and BMS.
- Knowledge of MEP, including HVAC and Public Health services design
- Understanding of specific building services design tools, such as IES.
- Knowledge of CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS and EN Standards.
- Commercial sector knowledge/experience is a strong advantage.
- Building Information Modelling (BIM) experience will be advantageous.
- Mechanical building services design knowledge/ experience is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of communal plant heating systems would be advantageous.
- Project management, problem-solving, presentation, communication and IT skills are essential.
