Hays Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Construction Manager to join our client, a leading renewables company based in Cork.

Your new role:
You will join a multi-disciplinary team working on exciting projects in the renewables sector. We believe that our projects make a difference in our journey to Carbon Neutral. Our projects will consist of civils works and the electrical installation of equipment and subsequent connection works to the Grid.

Your duties will include the management of all client and subcontractor staff on site. Scope management and record management will be a key area as well as checking and updating drawings to ensure project as-builts are maintained.

You will also be involved in ensuring quality and safety standards are met on site while communicating with stakeholders and sub-contractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage installation of work packages in line with drawings and specification
  • Set out weekly and monthly work plans in line with schedule
  • Ability to deal with problems when they arise
  • Manage and record scope changes on the project
  • Support both customer and company audits, ensuring that optimum results are achieved
  • Report weekly on-site progress working closely with the Project Scheduler
  • Managing Sub Contractors to deliver agreed scope and schedule
  • Manage all Health and Safety on site
  • Assist with handover to the Commissioning Team

Qualifications, Skills, Attributes and Experience:
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience managing subcontractors and the steps required to successful handover for commissioning
  • Knowledge of MV/HV electrical work would be beneficial but not essential
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good time management skills and ability to multitask
  • Strong IT skills with Microsoft Office packages, including document management
  • Safe Pass card
  • Driver’s license
