Your new role
The Bid Manager is responsible for leading, coordinating, and delivering high-quality, profitable bids from opportunity stage through to formal tender submission and Sales Handover. This role sits at the centre of the tender process, allocating work across the estimating team, coordinating input from the Technical, Operations, Commercial and Finance teams, and managing vendor and subcontractor quotations. The aim is to ensure that every bid is technically compliant, commercially robust, deliverable and aligned with company's risk appetite and strategic goals. Other duties include:

- Work with the Sales and Estimating Director to understand and shape bid strategy, win themes, and target margin for each opportunity.
- Support structured bid / no-bid decisions with information on risk, competitiveness, client profile, and internal capacity.
- Challenge scope, programme and client requirements where necessary to ensure the bid is realistically deliverable.
- Break down the tender into clear work packages and task lists for the estimating team (LogiKal estimators, planning estimators, general estimators).
- Allocate tasks based on capability, workload, and programme, ensuring that all tender requirements are covered.
- Prepare and maintain a tender programme, including internal review dates, vendor and subcontract quotation deadlines.
- Maintain and develop structured vendor and subcontractor records and libraries (rates, performance feedback, typical terms) to support future bids.
- Use and promote the group’s digital tools (for example LogiKal, Business Central, CoreLink, SharePoint, planning tools) as the central source of truth for tender data.
- Ensure all tender information, correspondence, and revisions are stored in the correct folder structures and naming conventions.
What you'll need to succeed
Requirements are:- Strong understanding of façade / glazing systems, construction methods, and project sequencing (desirable).
- Competent user of estimating and tendering tools (for example LogiKal) and planning tools.
- Comfortable working within integrated digital environments such as Business Central, CoreLink, and SharePoint.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills, including advanced use of spreadsheets for pricing and comparisons.
- Highly organised, structured, and disciplined in managing multiple concurrent bids.
- Calm under pressure, with the ability to work to multiple deadlines without loss of quality.
- Clear and concise communicator, both in writing and verbally, with clients, internal stakeholders, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Commercially aware, with sound judgement regarding risk, margin, and the suitability of projects for the business.
- Proven experience in estimating or bid management within façades, glazing, cladding, or wider construction.
- Demonstrable track record of coordinating multidisciplinary tender submissions to fixed deadlines.
- Collaborative, approachable, and professional, with a focus on developing people and processes for the next generation of the business.
What you'll get in return
Excellent salary and package on offer.
- Opportunities for progression due to growing team.
