Contracts Manager - Commercial Project - Dublin City
Your new company
You’ll be joining a leading Irish building contractor delivering complex projects nationwide from offices in Dublin and Galway, with a reputation for safety, quality, sustainability, and long-term client relationships. The portfolio spans civic and amenity, conservation & restoration, commercial & fit‑out, residential, healthcare, pharma/industrial, education, and tourism & leisure, including award‑winning and high‑profile schemes.
Your new role
Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will lead multiple projects concurrently (typically €10m–€30m+) from pre‑construction through handover, ensuring programme, budget, quality, and EHS outcomes are achieved. Core responsibilities include:
- Programme leadership: Prepare, issue, and monitor construction programmes; manage phasing and handovers; control schedule changes and variations with the design team and PM.
- Safety stewardship: Oversee site safety across your projects, working with the Safety function to maintain compliance with H&S regulations and the company’s EHS system.
- Quality & technical assurance: Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, building regulations, and best practice; champion right‑first‑time delivery.
- Stakeholder management: Represent the contractor at client/design/subcontractor meetings; prepare and present Contractor’s Reports and progress updates.
- Commercial & records: Coordinate with Contracts Director, QS, Purchasing, and Head Office; maintain accurate site/project records (diaries, allocations, advice forms).
- People & resourcing: Work with the Contracts Director to allocate, mobilise, and develop site teams; promote a collaborative, performance‑driven culture.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
- Extensive experience delivering projects at scale, including 5+ years at Contracts Manager (or senior management) level within a main‑contractor environment; proven record on €10m–€30m+ schemes.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to manage multiple live projects and cross‑functional teams.
- Robust technical competence in interpreting drawings/specifications and in programme, quality, safety, and commercial controls.
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach consistent with ISO‑driven processes and continuous improvement culture.
