The organisation specialises in main contracting, design & build, project management, and property development, providing a full end‑to‑end service from site procurement through construction and post‑completion management.
Your new role
The Contracts Manager is responsible for overseeing the commercial, contractual, and operational delivery of multiple construction projects. The role ensures that all contracts are administered effectively, risks are managed, project milestones are achieved, and client relationships are maintained to a high standard. This position is central to ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.
Contract & Project Management- Manage the full lifecycle of construction contracts, ensuring compliance with legal, commercial, and industry standards.
- Oversee contract execution, variations, claims, and negotiations to safeguard project and organisational interests.
- Act as the primary point of contact for contract‑related communication with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual and operational risks across multiple live projects.
- Ensure all activities align with established quality, environmental, and safety frameworks (ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001), supporting high‑quality construction delivery.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and commercial reporting.
- Work closely with quantity surveyors and project managers to control costs, review valuations, and ensure accurate financial administration.
- Coordinate project workflows to ensure contract obligations, milestones, and deliverables are achieved.
- Support site teams to resolve operational challenges, ensure timely procurement, and maintain smooth project progress.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and authorities.
- Present progress reports, manage expectations, and lead discussions on contractual or commercial matters.
- Develop and refine internal contract management processes to improve efficiency, governance, and delivery outcomes.
- Support digital construction initiatives and modernised project delivery workflows, including BIM‑aligned processes where used
What you'll need to succeed
Significant experience in contract management within the construction sector (residential, commercial, or civil).
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, regulatory requirements, and contractual risk management.
Proven ability to manage multiple large‑scale projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
Financial and commercial acumen, with experience in cost control and contract administration.
Strong stakeholder management and leadership capability.
