We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join a client of ours with a view to designing, implementing, and managing our enterprise IT infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of business systems while driving innovation and continuous improvement.

• Design, implement, and manage data centre and cloud infrastructure (including Azure, Nutanix, VMware)
• Oversee enterprise networking environments (LAN, WAN, wireless, internet, and virtual networks)
• Ensure high availability of critical systems through proactive monitoring and issue remediation
• Manage and secure infrastructure components, including firewalls and security services
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and recommend architectural improvements
• Maintain and validate backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Lead infrastructure projects and collaborate across IT teams
• Develop and support monitoring, alerting, and automation frameworks
• Manage identity and access services, including Active Directory and Azure AD
• Oversee user endpoint management, deployments, and application delivery
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX)
• Create and maintain technical documentation and provide knowledge sharing across teams

• 5+ years in a Systems Engineer or similar role in a medium-to-large environment
• Strong experience with virtualisation platforms (Nutanix, VMware)
• Experience managing storage, backup systems, and server infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with cloud and on-prem automation and deployment
• Solid networking experience across enterprise environments

• Deep understanding of cloud and on-prem compute, storage, and networking technologies
• Experience designing highly available and scalable environments
• Familiarity with automation tools and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to lead projects and work independently or collaboratively
• Highly self-motivated with an end-to-end ownership mindset
• Excellent documentation and communication skills

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Experience or certifications in:
  • Azure, Nutanix, VMware, Hyper-V, Veeam
  • Terraform, PowerShell, Shell scripting
  • Networking platforms (Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco)
  • Microsoft 365 and Active Directory
  • SAP Basis
