Your new role

As a Safeguarding Officer, you will play a key role in delivering expert safeguarding support across the organisation. Acting as a lead in safeguarding operations, you will manage safeguarding concerns, provide guidance to stakeholders, and ensure adherence to relevant legislation and internal policies.
You will be responsible for handling safeguarding disclosures, leading and supporting investigations, and managing complex cases. The role will involve maintaining accurate records, reporting to external agencies where required, and contributing to continuous improvement in safeguarding practices.
You will also support training and awareness initiatives, monitor compliance, and build strong working relationships both internally and externally to promote best practice.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • A recognised qualification in safeguarding (minimum Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policies, and best practice
  • Experience managing safeguarding cases and conducting investigations
  • The ability to influence, challenge, and promote a positive organisational culture
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience delivering training or awareness sessions
  • Strong organisational and IT skills, including reporting and case management
Desirable experience includes:
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice
  • Experience working with safeguarding systems or case management tools
  • Background in health, social care, or a related discipline
