A Health & Safety training coordinator is required to work within the Water / construction sector.
Your new company
A Health & Safety Training Coordinator is required initially for a 6–12 month contract (which is likely to extend – subject to performance). Reporting to the Technical Learning & Skills Manager, the H&S Training Coordinator will be responsible for delivery of pre-approved training programs and strategy. Supporting the delivery of training services across the organisation. Working within the construction sector, and specifically the Water industry, you will be travelling across the country delivering various health & safety training both indoors and outdoors. Full duties and responsibilities are outlined below.
- Reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety/ core technical training and requirements to the highest industry standards.
- Input into the Technical Learning and Skills training strategy.
- Deliver successful learning programs at the required capability.
- Identify further development opportunities and training needs of staff based on training needs analysis or through changes in strategies and projects that impact on the ways of operating.
- Report on the training delivered and assess the progress of the implementation of the training strategy.
- Collaborate with the wider business to develop and create training materials.
- Continue to improve training effectiveness by identifying adjustments or improvements to the current programs or suggesting new approaches and techniques when needed.
- Participate in new or ad-hoc development projects in order to increase work efficiency.
- Support the development of digital tools and deliverance of additional or ad hoc training when required.
- Identify risks and issues related to work management activities and escalate through appropriate channels.
- To have a car & a full clean driving licence, available to travel as required.
- To be available to travel regionally within Ireland doing multiple sessions in the location per day – the role involves a typical week of 2–3 days travel nationwide.
- Own a laptop that can hook up to a screen and use for work purposes.
- Manual Handling Instructor and a minimum of a Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (minimum of a Level 6 qualification)
- Training delivery expertise on processes/technical content
- Ability to quickly absorb pre-prepared training content and deliver to audiences at multiple grades
- Ability to set up and run training sessions remotely or via “Teams” when required in all types of settings.
- Providing clear and concise attendance records per session.
- Co-ordination and management of training sessions with the support of other business areas
Strong technical experience using work management systems (e.g. Maximo & work management handheld devices)
A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and relevant experience.
Full, clean, class B Irish driving licence. A clean driving licence is defined as meaning that the applicant has not been convicted of an offence under the Road Traffic Acts (other than an offence for which the penalty is the imposition of penalty points).
Working knowledge of the standards, processes and procedures relevant to work management processes.
Proactive, with the ability to work on your own initiative and with others to ensure success in the performance of a team.
Proven effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise and remain focused.
