Recycling & Recovery Executive - €60,000 - €63,000 + Excellent Benefits Package


Your New Role
Our client is seeking a Recycling & Recovery Executive for a permanent, long‑term position. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise—particularly in mechanical engineering—to support the delivery of the organisation’s infrastructure projects.
Lead communication initiatives for the organisation, including events, awards programmes, and internal updates, as well as delivering quarterly presentations.
Play an active role in meeting individual, departmental, and organisational performance objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and maintain effective relationships with assigned recovery operator accounts on behalf of our client.
  • Conduct site visits, audits, and waste characterisation studies for designated recovery and recycling operators.
  • Verify operator subsidy claims by cross‑checking recovery and recycling tonnage documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain and update departmental databases, recycling facility search tools, ROLC accounts, spreadsheets, and other relevant information systems.
  • Assist with contract compliance audits in line with standard operating procedures and industry best practices.
  • Supervise consultant activities during Waste Characterisation Studies (WCS).
  • Support the Finance Team with forecasting activities.
  • Attend member site audits in collaboration with the Membership Team.
  • Assist with compliance audits and reporting on brokers and destinations, both domestic and international.
  • Contribute to the assessment, administration, and delivery of the client’s awards judging process and awards ceremony.
  • Help organise, develop, and deliver conferences, working group papers, and external presentations as required.
  • Record minutes for the Recovery & Recycling Team meetings when needed.
  • Always represent our client and its policies in a professional manner.
  • Deliver recycling talks and community training sessions on behalf of our client when required.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned from time to time.

What You Will Need to Succeed
  • A degree in Engineering or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in industrial operations, waste management, recycling processes, or environmental compliance.
  • Strong technical understanding of waste‑processing systems and recycling technologies.
  • Highly developed analytical skills, including experience in data validation and report preparation.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • A full, clean driving licence and the flexibility to travel nationwide.


Desirable
  • Understanding of Irish and EU waste and packaging legislation (e.g., Producer Responsibility Initiatives, Waste Framework Directive, PPWR).
  • Experience conducting site audits and compliance assessments.
  • Familiarity with waste‑characterisation methodologies.
  • Project management experience, particularly on infrastructure or environmental projects.
  • Awareness of financial forecasting processes and subsidy‑verification requirements.
  • Previous work with producer responsibility schemes or environmental regulatory bodies.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with multiple teams and stakeholders.

What You Will Receive
A salary between €60,000 - €62,000 (DOE)
