Our large accounting practice client in Cork City is seeking a bookkeeper who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is confident about handling varied and sometimes complex tasks. You will join a collaborative and supportive team, where you’ll work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to delivering high-quality services to a diverse client base.
Your new role
- Carry out bookkeeping tasks on clients as directed
- Take on projects to correct clients' bookkeeping systems.
- Perform bank reconciliations for all clients
- Perform all relevant control account reconciliations as directed
- Use Dext and other apps as directed to improve the efficiency of the work we do
- Prepare VAT returns ready for review by the client manager.
- Consistently achieve good feedback from clients and staff by delivering a high standard of client service both internally and externally.
- Comply with the firm’s policies, procedures and ethical standards.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in the use of accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Big Red Book, Quick Books etc.
- Knowledge of core accounting apps such as Dext
- Ability to use sector software, in particular Excel, Word and e-mail systems.
- To be able to draft letters which are commercially sensible and appropriate to the client's situation
- Effective communication skills – fluency in English essential.
- Attention to detail and solution-driven.
- Ability to work well within a team but also independently.
