CFO Finance Director job - High growth Irish SME - Galway City

Your new company

Your new company is involved in the FMCG industry. A family owned enterprise which originated in very humble beginnings, it has bloomed into one of the major players in the domestic food market. This highly ambitious company is experiencing rapid growth currently and plans to continue this expansion into the near future through a combination of organic growth, investment and acquisitions. The company boasts a terrific culture which strikes the balance between having a very professional structure within a close-knit, flat organisation. It is a brilliant opportunity to join a company on an upward trajectory at a senior management level.

Your new role

You will be the Chief Financial Officer and will be tasked with leading the finance department managed by an established FC, along with being heavily involved in the strategic planning of the business moving forward as they continue to expand. Your primary focus will be to provide strategic financial guidance, ensure financial stability and drive profitability while managing costs. You will report directly to the Managing Director and work very closely with senior management across the organisation, being the 'eyes and ears' from a finance perspective. You will be heavily involved in optimising systems, looking at ways to streamline business process and create efficiencies also.

What you'll need to succeed

You must be a fully qualified accountant, with CIMA qualifications advantageous as the role revolves around manufacturing and production. Experience in a similar industry in manufacturing, construction, retail, hospitality or similar FMCG would be preferred. The company are looking for an established CFO, so you must have experience in a very senior financial role and be comfortable influencing senior decision makers. Communication skills, both written and verbal, are a necessity in this role as it is a highly colloborative position working cross-functionally.
