Finance Manager job - 25-30 Hours Per Week - Limerick City - Charity Sector

Your new company

Your new organisation is a registered charity based in Limerick City since the 1960's, originally founded by the local Diocese. Over the last number of years, the organisation has been professionally led by a CEO and board of management which has directly led to an increase in child, family and elderly people services across the Limerick City region and an increase in government funding via public bodies. With staffing numbers rising to 80, they continue to widen their services with increased public health projects and initiatives being rolled out this year. Internally, the company has an excellent culture and team work ethic where everyone pulls together towards the goal of providing a best-in-class service for their end service users.

Your new role

You will head up the finance department in the company, managing all aspects of day-to-day accounting, banking, producing quarterly financial reports and management accounts as well as payroll for a headcount of 80. In addition, you will also work alongside the CEO and other heads of departments to finalise public funding requirements, budgets and forecasted spend and will be responsible for dealing with the relevant bodies to secure funding while also managing the spend throughout the financial year. The charity sector is a highly regulated industry and, as such, you will be required to keep on top of all relevant legislation and liaise with all internal and external auditors.

What you'll need to succeed

You must be a fully qualified accountant with a relevant professional accreditation (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA). Previous charity and not-for-profit sector exposure (either directly or via audit experience) is not essential but may be advantageous. The personality fit is really important for the organisation, so you must be able to demonstrate that you are a team player who is genuinely interested in facilitating other staff members in providing a best-in-class service in the community and genuinely invested in the vision and mission of the company. Occupationally, the successful applicant will have excellent technical knowledge and hands-on management accounting experience. Additionally, strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as is strong attention to detail.

What you'll get in return

You will get a very competitive pro rata salary based off a 37.5 hour week and based off the experience you can bring to the role. The role is likely to be fully on-site for the 25–30 hours per week, but as the role is very autonomous, management are flexible on how many days the hours are spread across but the requirement is for a strong on-site presence. In addition, the company is offering a very generous pension contribution of up to 6% matched, 30 days annual leave pro rata, a death in service benefit of x3 salary and sick leave support. Moreover, you will get the unique opportunity to play a leading management role in an organisation that is doing a social good in the community in Limerick.
