Our client was established over ten years ago and has grown into a well-established firm with over 50 employees across two sites in Cork. The business specialises in providing advisory and accounting services to multisite owner‑managed businesses, effectively acting as an outsourced finance function for its clients.
Beyond statutory accounts, the team delivers management accounts and detailed commercial analysis to support decision-making, improve margins, and strengthen operational control. In this role, you will act similarly to a Financial Controller for a portfolio of businesses.
With a growing team based in North Cork / South West Cork, continued expansion and client growth have created new opportunities within the management and account leadership teams.
Your new role
The role involves liaising with clients and managing a team of trainee accountants. The successful candidate will provide full financial control services to clients and play a key role in supporting the ongoing growth of the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist in the preparation and review of Management Accounts
- Review and present weekly KPI reports to the Senior Account Manager
- Deal with financial control issues arising out of KPI reports and suggest improvements where necessary
- Evaluate and implement effective internal controls
- Oversee the accounts payable function
- Working capital management
- Prepare and submit VAT Returns
- Provide full financial control services to clients
- Train and supervise junior staff
- Liaise with clients on a regular basis
- Part‑qualified (ACCA / CPA / CIMA / ACA) or qualified by experience
- Minimum 3+ years’ similar or equivalent experience
- Previous practice or advisory experience is strongly advantageous.
- Proficient in all aspects of accounts preparation
- Proven ability to manage, mentor and develop staff
- Confident communicator as this job will be client‑facing
- Ability to work on your own initiative and to tight deadlines
- Available to start immediately (highly desirable but not essential)
