This client has retained Hays to recruit a Timber Frame Design Technologist to work within their office based west of Cork City.

Your new role

This position is based within the client's design team, and is responsible for ensuring all timber frame design work is carried out in accordance with agreed schedules, design office procedures and using relevant regulations and codes. The role is structured and is a great opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in a busy and exciting time in the construction industry. Remote work may be considered following full training in house.

Responsibilities:

• Designing of timber frame buildings to the highest of standards in a timely manner.

• The role involves dealing with the architectural aspect of the designs, liaising with the client, architects and engineers, and includes drawing up the building in an AutoCAD 3D Model, from which a full set of plans, sections, elevations and details will be produced.

• The role also involves bringing the timber frame design through to production and on-site completion, by means of full sets of production and site construction drawings.

• Additional adhoc duties as and when required.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience in AutoCAD, or similar CAD design software.

• Construction or Design based 3rd level education.

• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

• Self-motivated with an ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team.

• Disciplined and consistent approach to following process and procedures.

• Good communication skills.
