Here in Hays Recruitment, we are currently recruiting for a Technical Manager to join our client a leading organisation in the meat industry. They are a market leader in this industry with international reach. This is a permanent, full time position.

Your new role
- Act as the primary Technical contact for the site.
- Liaise with the Site Production Manager to ensure all aspects of the Food Safety and Quality Management System are implemented across the site
- Ensure compliance with DAFM, BRC, MPQAS and Customer Requirements.
- Continually review existing Food Safety and Quality Management Systems in line with legislative & customer requirements.
- Keep up to date with food legislation and emerging food safety risks
- Manage certification and customer audits, completing corrective action reports to agreed timelines
- Manage customer complaints, root-cause investigation, and implementation of corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement through Food Safety and Quality Objectives
- Develop a Food Safety Culture across the site
- Coach & nurture talent within the technical team
What you'll need to succeed
- Food Science qualification, preferably a Food Science degree
- Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP and Good Manufacturing Procedures,
- Experience with International Audits.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in food safety / quality
- A proficient user of computers, i.e.: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Good communication skills, ability to work in a team and on own initiative
- Strong organisational skills giving attention to detail
