Supply Chain Strategy role within a Large Utilities Company

Your new company

Our client is Ireland’s national regulated water utility and is responsible for providing water and wastewater services throughout Ireland. Their mission is to ensure their customers receive a clean, safe and reliable supply of drinking water and have their wastewater collected and safely returned to the environment. Protecting the health and well-being of the people of Ireland.

Your new role

The Supply Chain Strategy Lead will support the delivery of procurement and contracting strategies to support the various functions within Iand will contribute to the overall performance of the Supply Chain process.

Reporting to a Supply Chain Strategy Manager [Capital, Indirect, Direct, Contracts], they will support the development of procurement and contract strategies through market engagement, stakeholder management and benchmarking with peer organisations.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable.
  • Relevant third level qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience of end- to- end public procurement/strategic sourcing, category management, and experience in the area of P2P, contract management, contract administration and supplier relationship management.
  • Demonstrated people management ability, proactive development, motivation and engagement of staff.
  • Experience managing a team, with strong people, change management and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective strategic partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate complex information to others.
  • Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements.
  • Proactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job.
