Your new employer is a leading Irish semi-state service provider. They are committed to growth, innovation and sustainability continues to be top of their agenda. They now require a Supply Chain Strategy Lead to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your new role
The Supply Chain Strategy Lead will be responsible for supporting the delivery of procurement and contracting strategies to aid in the performance of the supply chain process. They will report to a Supply Chain Sustainability & Contract Support Manager and will be responsible for developing procurement and contract strategies, market engagement, and stakeholder management. The role also involves ensuring that Supply Chain Sustainable Procurement Strategy is aligned with the organisations Sustainability Framework and embedded in Supply Chains processes and policies. The candidate will be required to engage with external suppliers, prepare presentations, analyse market conditions, liaise with other similar utilities and government bodies, manage frameworks, track supplier performance targets and KPIs, and support Tender Delivery Team and Business Units with development of strategies for the efficient and effective sourcing of materials, services and works. The candidate is also expected to participate in relevant meetings and develop strong working relationships with Supply Chain customers while adopting a ‘one team’ culture.

What you'll need to succeed
The job requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in water, utilities, or similar industries. The ideal candidate should have experience in end-to-end public procurement/strategic sourcing, category management, P2P, contract management, sustainability, contract administration, and supplier relationship management. The role involves aligning the Supply Chain Sustainable Procurement Strategy with the organisations Sustainability Framework and embedding it in supply chain processes and policies. The successful candidate should be able to manage a team, develop and motivate staff, maintain effective strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, and communicate complex information effectively. The job demands a highly motivated individual with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills who can adapt to changing business strategies and requirements and identify new areas for improvement.
