• Identify and evaluate alternative raw materials that are renewable, biodegradable, or have a lower environmental impact.
• Develop new product formulations using sustainable materials, ensuring they meet performance and quality standards.
• Perform laboratory experiments to test the viability, performance, and safety of new formulations.
• Create and test prototypes of products made with new sustainable formulations.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve the sustainability of existing products and processes.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in sustainable chemistry and apply them to the company’s R&D efforts.
• Optimise production processes to minimise waste, energy consumption, and environmental impact.

What you'll need to succeed

• PhD or Masters in materials science, chemistry, or a related field in science or engineering.
• 5 years experience of developing new products or formulations, or in reformulating existing products.
• Have a strong background in polymer modification reactions.
