Operations Manager, Supply Chain, Logistics
Hays Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our client, a leading healthcare and med device service provider based in Cork. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the ROI operations of the business and will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, delivering sustainable end to end supply chain strategies to optimise the performance of the logistics & warehouse facilities in the client's Dublin and Cork sites and ensure products are processed and dispatched to the highest quality standards.
This position requires the candidate to develop an extensive knowledge of the business and understand the Company’s mission, vision, values, and their involvement in the execution of the company strategy. The person will be key to coordinating and leading the warehouse teams, operations, logistics and facilities, as well as working closely with the sales team and management to ensure our service delivery meets our customer’s needs. You will work closely with the COO to support groupwide operations projects and initiatives that enhance job satisfaction for our employees, optimise productivity, improve customer experience and deliver on company objectives.

Responsibilities: Not limited to but will include:
- Working with the COO and other department / operation leads to influence the creation of an operations strategy, and ensure there are correct procedures and systems in place to enable its successful implementation.
- Supporting the mechanisms around the annual budget process and have overall control of the operations budget.
- Overseeing the effective running of the ROI operations division, working with all departments to ensure quality and health and safety standards are being met.
- Taking a lead role in building a strong leadership culture within the Operations Team, proactively identifying skills and opportunities for ongoing development.
- Ensuring the Operations function complies to all policies and procedures relating to security, Health and Safety and influences any changes necessary to meet statutory requirements, ensuring minimum risk to staff members and the business.
- Being strategic and having practical involvement in implementing the Sustainable Business Strategy through a wide range of objectives including but not limited to energy efficiency, waste management etc.
- Leading and promoting a safe working practices in line with ISO, GDP requirements and best practice to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensuring the security of the buildings and stock is maintained.
- Providing leadership, motivation, and guidance to the logistics & warehouse operations team in our Dublin and Cork Warehouses.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities for cost reduction with a view to service improvement.
- Ensuring continuous improvement principles are applied across the operations teams.
- Developing and implement new policies, procedures, and standards in accordance with best practice.
- Monitoring returns process materials, and ensure outbound freight is handled in compliance with company policies.
- Developing KPIs and manage overall team performance.
- Ensuring the processing of products to the highest quality standards in the safest, most cost effective and efficient manner.
- Developing a strong performance culture through employee engagement, talent development and leadership practices.
- Working with sales teams to meet customer and supplier expectations.
- Assisting with facility and property management as and when needed, including building inspections, procuring bids, building operations, and projects.
- Overseeing the use of the Inventory Control System to maintain full traceability and accountability of the materials, including investigating any variances arising from these.
- Working with Supplier Management team ensuring efficient onboarding, maintenance, reporting and offboarding of suppliers.
- Capacity planning in conjunction with the warehouse managers & supervisors for existing and future products.
- Minimum of 5 years in a key Management role.
- Significant experience in an operational environment.
- Ability to communicate at all levels, ensuring that the relevant information is divulged, and that practical and efficient remedies are put forward.
- A proven track record of operational success at a senior level.
- Exposure to commercial decision-making principles with the ability to look at the whole picture.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety responsibilities.
- SAP or similar ERP System experience.
- Previous warehouse, operations & logistics experience desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Change Management experience desirable.
- Be process driven with the ability to exceed standards and continuously improve service offering.
- Have advanced problem solving and analytical skills.
- Have strong administrative skills incorporating planning and organizational skills.
