Here in Hays Recruitment we are currently recruiting for a Logistics and Warehouse Manager to join our client a leading organisation within the Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices organisation. This is a permanent, full time role based in Shannon. They are a global reaching organisation which ships to Europe, Asia and Central America.

Your new company
This organisation is an Irish company which commenced business in Shannon in January of 1999. They are involved in Pharmaceutical distribution and the packaging of In-vitro diagnostic kits for Diabetics. There are two very distinct sides of the Business, Pharmaceutical and Diagnostic. They ship direct to our client base from our operation in Shannon, which is spread across Europe, Asia and central America.

Your new role
The role has a strong emphasis on team leadership and coordination of Logistics and Warehouse team members.
There are two aspects to the role;
  • The first involves the management of physical warehouse in Shannon including goods receipt, inventory management, production supply and shipping & delivery.
  • The second involves coordination of shipments and deliveries from Europe throughout the world, including the processing of shipments through the ERP system, provision of customer documents, Freight Forwarder management and problem resolution.
Both aspects of the role have a heavy emphasis on regulatory compliance within pharmaceutical and medical device fields, and require a focus on Customer service.

This dynamic role offers exposure to international markets and worldwide logistics operations. One should possess excellent organisational and communication skills, an inquisitive and open-minded approach towards continuous improvement and innovation, and a desire to create an inclusive and collaborative culture.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management with work related experience in a senior role in a medical device, pharmaceutical company or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a variety of media, tactful, confident at all levels, internal and external.
  • A proven track record in leadership, including the ability to coach, assess, evaluate, develop, motivate and empower others.
  • Passion for data, analysis, trends, reporting. Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Ability to write clearly and informatively.
  • Technical documentation, routine reports, correspondence, procedures and workflows.
  • Present numerical data effectively.
  • Demonstrate aptitude for process improvement. Excellent IT Skills – and knowledge of SAP would be a distinct advantage.
