Weekend maintenance technician required for cardboard manufacturer. South-West Dublin.

Your new role

As a maintenance fitter, your primary focus will be to generate maximum asset up-time through planned and preventative maintenance over a 3-day weekend shift, Friday to Sunday 12-hour shifts 07:30am-7:30pm
Key Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
  • Maintaining, repairing, and installing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment on various asset types across the site.
  • Applying excellent problem-solving skills to swiftly fault-find and rectify problems.
  • Working independently with OEMs and external contractors on maintenance, repairs and installations.
  • Promoting and leading a proactive and positive safety culture, ensuring adherence to safe working practices.
  • Using CMMS to generate and record all planned, reactive and project work.
  • Liaising with OEMs and other vendors when diagnosing faults, ordering, or sourcing replacement parts.
  • Providing support and participating in all continuous improvement projects and trials.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with quality requirements, company policy and all statutory requirements.
  • Effective and timely communication with Engineering, Production and Quality personnel.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 3+ years practical hands-on experience in a relevant industrial setting.
  • Maintenance Fitter Craft Certificate or equivalent is essential.
  • Strong technical capability with the ability to read, understand and work from technical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Proven ability to work well as part of a team and independently, using your own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Positive attitude to changing circumstances and work priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional conduct.
  • Experience in the print and packaging sector is desirable but not essential.
  • Competency using SAP PM and Microsoft Office will be a distinct advantage.
