Maintenance Fitter, West Cork

Based in West Cork, your new company produce high quality flavours, ingredients and cheeses and export them to fifty countries around the world. They are focused on supplying the highest quality products they can enriching the lives of their customers through healthy and tasty products. They are now looking for maintenance fitters to join the team, on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, dependable, and efficient performance of equipment and plant across the site.

Your new role
Reporting to the site maintenance manager, you will be responsible for troubleshooting equipment, ensuring all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with company policies and procedures and ensure that they are recorded also. You will support the engineering and production teams on continuous improvement and monitor equipment to minimise downtime and be able to recommend continuous improvement actions. Duties will include maintenance of highest standards of health and safety, regulatory and GMP/hygiene standards, deliver with the other Maintenance team members a reliable centred maintenance function with best practices including preventative maintenance and daily reporting of maintenance activities. Updating and utilisation of the PEMAC system (CMMS) including spare parts used and contributing to problem solving and continuous improvement activities will be a key part of this role. This is a shift role. Shift operates 2 days, 2 nights 8am-8pm and vice versa, then 4 days off.

What you'll get in return
Maintenance Fitter Craft Certificate or equivalent is essential and previous experience manufacturing industries. The ideal candidate will be able to work as part of a team and off their own initiative, have good communications skills and an eye for detail with strong technical capability.
