Who will you be working for?

You will be working for a multinational, Fortune 500 investment bank and financial services corporation based in the heart of Dublin City centre. This role is hybrid, 3 days on site per week. Working as a Big Data Developer, you will be immersed in the progressive culture that exists within the organisation.

What will you be working on?

You will be an integral part of the Dublin team, working closely with North American business divisions in a support specialist position, playing a crucial role in ensuring applications' reliability, scalability, and performance. You will be the primary point of contact for issues that arise in production, which consist of finding the root cause, fixing bugs/issues and passing it to relevant personnel if required. There is lots of data that feeds into the internal database, so a strong understanding of SQL is required for this role. Along with this, you will have the ability to develop java and spring-based applications which is a large bulk of the role. There is a strong reporting function for this position, including weekly/biweekly/ROD change tickets and ensure that the change management protocols and standards are thoroughly practiced.

What are we looking for?

We are looking to speak with candidates with strong experience in an Application Support or Software Development position. You will have minimum 3 years of experience working as a developer on Java based applications, and you must have hands-on skills on SQL and basic data warehousing concepts. Along with this, a basic understanding of Microservice Architecture, Containerization and Orchestration would be well sought after. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential for this role.
