Your new company is a well-established logistics company with multiple offices in Ireland. They now require a Freight Forwarding Manager to join the Cork team on a permanent basis.

Your new role

As the Freight Forwarding Manager, you will oversee the provision of effective service and sales to customers and agents while maintaining and developing additional business with these and other companies. Your main duties will include ensuring that the Operations and Sales Teams carry out their job duties, assisting with daily operations, dealing with all aspects of customer service, conducting sales or customer service calls, managing all sales and purchases functions, and conducting all facility management functions and associated building security measures.
You will also be responsible for preparing relative quotations and assisting in the preparation of general tenders for the section. Additionally, you will provide assistance to operations staff and training in new operations procedures or products, and provide operations staff with general assistance in settling in new business and preparation of the required customer profile information.

You will collate staff attendance, leave and organise cover for absences

What you'll need to succeed

You will have previous management experience in the logistics industry, ideally freight forwarding. You will have strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to maintain team and stakeholder relationships. You will have experience managing commercial leads and liaising with stakeholders to source rates and services. You will have the ability to manage daily operations and provide reports as required.
