Financial Controller job - County Mayo - High growth construction company

Your new company

Your new company is a family owned organisation based in Mayo and involved in the construction and manufacturing industry for over 50 years. Originating from humble beginnings, the company has grown to become one of the industry leaders nationwide and a recognised brand within the construction sector. Over the last number of years, company growth has accelerated in terms of size of projects, number of entities/brands under the one umbrella, and revenue leading to an expansion into the UK market. The company is highly ambitious and plans to continue this expansion into the foreseeable future but without losing sight of what made them so successful.

Your new role

You will be the Financial Controller tasked with leading the company's finance department. You will be the most senior finance employee and will work closely with the Directors, General Manager and project managers to help drive profitability and growth while also maintaining vigorous contorts on cost management. You will be the 'eyes and ears' from a finance perspective of the company and will be tasked with providing timely financial analysis such as cashflows, budgeting, variance analysis and work on various projects as well as producing month-end management accounts, year-end statutory returns and leading the finance team to ensure everything is processed timely and accurately. The role will suit someone who is looking to be involved in every aspect of a business.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA) with at least 5 years post qualification experience. Experience in a similar role or industry (construction/manufacturing etc.) is preferred but not essential. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are a must as well as the ability to influence decision makers. The role requires a high level of commercial acumen, and you will be expected to demonstrate this at interview stage. You will be a high-energy, self-motivated individual with a proven track record of getting projects over the line. UK experience is also highly advantageous.

What you'll get in return

You will get a generous market salary of €75,000 plus (company is willing to be flexible for the right individual). There is also a bonus scheme which may be negotiated beyond 6 month probation period. Above all, you will get the opportunity to join a local West of Ireland business with a proven track record of success who are planning on furthering their expansion in both the domestic and international markets and you could be central figure in shaping the success of the business.
