Financial Controller job - Limerick City - Manufacturing SME

Your new company

Your new company has been one of the success stories of Limerick manufacturing for the last 40+ years. Family-owned and operated, the organisation's success has been founded on being a the heart of the medical device industry supplying to some of the largest manufacturing MNC's across the West and Mid West region. The company also forecasts significant opportunities for growth across a number of other industries and requires an ambitious and commercially-driven senior finance professional to help steer the company in this new era of growth. The company also prides itself on it's local impact in the community, supporting local charities and engaging with these charities to host events.

Your new role

This role is a senior management position within the company. You will lead both the finance and admin departments (a team of 5-6 reports) and will report directly to the Managing Director. Your role will evolve around providing financial and strategic leadership, developing improved processes/structures across the company and identifying areas for enhanced commercial opportunities. In addition, you will produce monthly management accounts and establish accurate standard costing and inventory valuation models for manufacturing. Overall, this role is perfect for someone who would like to put their own stamp on a growing finance function within a company that is expected to double in size within the next 5 years.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a fully qualified accountant with a professionally recognised accreditation (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA). You will also have a number of years experience in a similar industry role, preferably holding a senior role in an SME (this is not essential as they are open to someone making the step up to FC also). You must be able to demonstrate your commercial awareness and ability to think strategically. Experience within the medical device sector is a distinct advantage as is a track record of managing teams and influencing business decisions. An analytical mindset as well as excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for success in this role.
