Financial Controller job - Head of Finance job - Hybride Working - Galway City

Your new role

You will head up the finance department and will be a key member of the senior management team. You will work closely with the other department heads to ensure the financial needs of the business are met. You will have strategic oversight of the Irish finance operations and will play a major role in business and commercial decisions. In addition to the more strategic/commercial aspects of the role, you will be expected to aid the team in fulfilling month-end duties such as P&L, Trial Balance/balance sheet reviews, monthly forecasting and reporting on company performance for the review of senior management. You will also be tasked with overall responsibility of for the annual budgeting process, year-end statutory compliance, tax and audits as well as cost control and efficiency measures across the company.


What you'll need to succeed

You must be a fully qualified accountant holding a recognised qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA). You will be a commercially astute accountant who is at home leadinga dynamic finance function with wide-ranging responsibilities from financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, cost controls, efficiency projects and systems improvements as well as taking the lead in the business decision-making process. Excellent communication skills are a must for this role as is a convivial personality who is able to manage up as well as down. You must also be able to demonstrate an analytical mindset and a prove ability to work in a fast paced environment under pressure and using your own initiative.
