Financial Accountant Job - Construction & Energy - Kildare - €65,000


Your new company
An energy and engineering company in business for over 20 years with projects overseas and head office in Kildare. The head office has approx 25 staff on-site with the large cohort of off-site contractors in the business too. This company has a friendly and diverse culture that cultivates trust and responsibility/ownerships of your own tasks, an outgoing person and a self-starter will fit in well here.

They offer great flexibility with hybrid working, only 1 or 2 days a week in the office and flexible working hours.

Your new role
This is a newly created role due to growth, reporting to the Financial Controller and joining a team of 6 in finance.

You will have full responsibility for 2 (UK & US) entities and your tasks will include producing management accounts for review and consolidation by the Financial Controller, as well as a variety of other duties.

Day to day you will be responsible for bank reconciliations, prepayments & accruals, a small bit of treasury, RCT invoices, intercompany reconciliations and UK VAT returns.

A large part of your role will revolve around job costing (analysing revenue vs costs) and working with job codes, reconciling on the GL.

Additional tasks include liaising with auditors, continually improving internal controls and assisting with a project to implement a new expenses app system.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need either be a qualified accountant or an accountant who is qualified by experience to produce management accounts, with experience in a construction or engineering company that use job codes and carry out job costing/project accounting. Construction industry experience is an absolute requirement for this role.

Experience with AccountsIQ would be beneficial but not essential.

What you'll get in return
You will be rewarded with a salary of €60,000 - €65,000 and a bonus of up to 4%, 22 days annual leave, sick leave of 10 days, pension contribution of matched 5% contribution and free parking. Working hours are 9 -5 Monday to Thursday and 9 - 4 on a Friday, although flexibility on hours is available.

Hybrid working will offer you great work/life balance with 1 or 2 days a week in the office and the rest from home.
