Your new company
This organisation is a specialist in the insurance industry. The business started in 2016 as part of a wider group and has quickly developed as a market leader in the transactional insurance space. With offices across the US, UK and Europe they are continuing to grow and in 2023 expect to set up in another 2 countries. They now plan to redomicile their headquarters to Ireland and they are looking for a Finance Manager/Senior Accountant to join the company in a standalone finance role in Ireland.

Your new role
This role will be fully remote reporting to the EMEA Financial Controller based in the UK. You will be initially working from home with plans to set up a Dublin office in the future when they will offer a flexible working approach. This will be a hands on role to manage the day to day finances for EMEA entities so as to allow the FC concentrate of more strategic decisions and business partnering.
Duties will include:

• Preparation and approval of Irish and other European payments in our partner banking platform
• Monthly management accounts (internal) and external quarterly stakeholder reports
• Assisting auditors with year-end audit preparation for the EMEA region including branch accounting for multiple branches.
• VAT reporting. Additional responsibilities may include calculation / payments and coordination of income tax and assisting HR/Payroll with any European payroll tax issues
• Responsible for accurate and timely journal entries into the ET accounting software, with the main focus on the Irish and European branch entities.
• Supporting Middle-Office and Operations – financial liaison & support with Operations teams involved in broker and counsel interactions related to accounts receivable and accounts payable respectively.
• Adhoc projects including assisting with the transition of the headquarters.

What you'll need to succeed

• You will be a qualified accountant - CIMA/CPA/ACCA/ACA
• You must have a background in the insurance industry, ideally experience working in Finance for an Insurance Broker.
• Familiarity with EU & UK VAT regulation & filing procedures is a strong advantage
• Have the ability to work in a standalone role while also liaising with different cultures in the UK , Europe and USA
• You will have a great personality, come across as outgoing and personable and technical strong.
• The client is happy to consider candidates who are stepping up from a Senior Accountant or someone in a more experienced Finance Manager role.
