Field Service Engineer, Waterford

Your new company specialises in the engineering, installation and after-care support of low-carbon gas-fired Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants, fast response balancing peaking plants and mission-critical standby diesel generation.
With a reputation for quality, reliability and customer service, they are the official distributor in the UK and Ireland for market leading MWM gas engines.
For over 35 years, this company has supported the growth of decentralised low-carbon power generation, helping businesses improve energy efficiency, cost savings, power resilience, and emission reduction as they collectively move towards achieving net-zero.
They are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our team, based in Waterford/surrounding areas.

Your new role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will efficiently carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work on installations.
Reporting to the Gas Service Manager, you will effectively diagnose and implement all reactive maintenance work on both client’s installations and other user’s installations. You will also carry out initial fault finding, both locally and remotely.
You will be responsible for maintaining the Service Operation with the clear goal of maximum efficiency and effectiveness and maximising availability and uptime by effecting a first-time fix wherever possible
You will also ensure customers are satisfied with the product and service provided

What you'll need to succeed
A minimum qualification to Senior Trade-level in Plant fitting, Mechanic, Car Mechanic or equivalent as well as 3 years’ experience in a mechanical role Knowledge of gas and diesel engines will be advantageous
Effective IT skills with competency in the use of MS Office packages
A full, valid driving licence is required
A recognised H&S qualification and an in-date CSR/Solas Safe Pass card would be advantageous to your application, as would a Gas Safe qualification.

In this role, you will be working Monday – Thursday, from 8.30am to 5pm and Friday 8.30am to 4pm. This role will involve weekend work and possible out of hours work. You will be required to participate in the on-call rota. Any additional hours worked over 39 hours a week will be paid at time and a half
Any additional hours worked on Saturday will be paid at time and a half for the first four hours and double time thereafter Any additional hours worked on Sunday and bank holidays will be paid at double time
