Your new role
You will be joining our client as a Field Service Engineer focusing on work with the Primary Care Team. While largely situated in the Cork/West Cork region, the geographical area to be covered will not be limited to this area, and flexibility will be necessary at specific times, this work will require you to assist with the repair and maintenance of Primary Care items (mobility aids and appliances). The chosen applicant will communicate regularly with the Engineering Administration teams and will answer directly to the Field Service Engineering Team Lead.
Your ability to identify problems quickly and effectively with mechanical and electrically based equipment is essential for the goods you will be focusing on (hospital, community, clinics or in client homes). Hoists, motorised and manual wheelchairs, electric profiling beds, mattresses, and bed pan washers are just a few examples of the products available.
Responsibilities will include, to inspect, repair and service medical equipment in the field, Co-ordinate & conduct installations, equipment maintenance, repair, and breakdown support at customer sites and to ensure that any work undertaken complies with the relevant manufacturers’ quality procedure relating to that service or activity. Ensure that equipment downtime is minimal and that your preventative maintenance plans are continually monitored and actioned in a timely manner. Provide engineer reports and all relevant supporting documentation to customer support administration for traceability, further processing, and invoicing. Access parts codes and services manuals to ensure product service/repair is in line with Manufacturer’s guidelines. Use Engineer Mobile App device to record accurately work carried out. Keep accurate account van stock & complete boot stock checks as required and Promote the Service Department ensuring the highest standard of Customer Service and satisfaction is achieved always.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed you will a proven track record in an Engineering role. For a dynamic, self-driven person who is enthusiastic and willing to learn in a forward-thinking atmosphere, this is an amazing opportunity The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of proven experience in a field-based Engineering role, preferably in the medical device sector or a related industry, however this is not essential. A full clean driver’s licence is essential. Computer literate is a must as is also a successful completion of Garda Vetting.
Top performers should be technically competent with strong trouble-shooting and analytical skills. Strong diagnostic, fault finding / problem solving, and judgement skills are essential in this role. Good mechanical and electrical knowledge of fault finding.
The successful candidate should have the ability to take responsibility for all work in their region and prioritise/ the same efficiently, therefore excellent organisational and timekeeping skills are also essential. Proactively managing and develop client relationships while delivering exceptional customer service to ensure successful partnerships is highly desired. Customer focused with a courteous and professional manner is an essential trait.
