Electrical maintenance technician required for market leader of importation and supply of animal feed.

Your new role

Reporting to the site Operations Manager, the core purpose of the Maintenance Technician will provide a resource to support the efficient operations of ship to shore machinery, in a port environment, in a safe manner. This is for a full-time role in one of the most secure businesses in Ireland and is working within a close-knit team with low turnover of staff.The job includes planned maintenance, fault finding and breakdown repairs and must be able to work as part of a team or alone to complete projects.
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Diagnosis of equipment faults in all the following disciplines — electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic.
  • Ensure all engineering work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner, in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation and current Company Standards.
  • To work across mechanical and electrical trades as qualified Fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs of industrial agri-feed conveying systems including but not limited to belt conveyors, belt and bucket elevators, bulk scale batch weighing equipment, dust filtration systems etc Planned maintenance, modifications, installations and upgrades to plant machinery and site services.
  • To plan for and assist with the installation of new or relocated equipment, including the provision of services. Ensure appropriate records are kept using the appropriate systems.
  • Carry out any other duties deemed necessary by the Site Operations Manager, Assistant operations manager or any other Manager on site.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum of time served Apprenticeship in mechanical and or electrical discipline.
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Five years post apprenticeship experience in a mech/elec hands-on maintenance/engineering
  • Knowledge of Electro/MechanicaI Equipment Mechanical experience of fitting industrial motors, gearboxes etc Experience in problem-solving and rectification on a variety of equipment, PLC's, safety circuits, control circuits, SCADA controlled equipment, variable speed drives etc.
  • Experience of electrical/electronic/pneumatic/hydraulic systems coupled with a good mechanical/electrical understanding.
  • Experience of fault-finding using wiring diagrams
