Electrical Engineer, West Cork

They are focused on supplying the highest quality products they can enriching the lives of their customers through healthy and tasty products. They are now looking for an electrical engineer to join the team, on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, dependable, and efficient performance of equipment and plant across the site.

Your new role

Reporting to the site maintenance manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of a team of multi-skilled maintenance electricians.
You will manage and develop team members’ competence and performance so that they contribute effectively to the achievement of team goals and be responsible for achieving continuous improvement in reliability of equipment and condition of the plant, consistent with specified food safety, quality, and customer standards.
Other responsibilities will include the management of the site, medium and high voltage distribution and switchgear systems and capital projects; including project preparation, budgeting, implementation, installation and commissioning, cost management; operate within budget and contribute effectively to our continuous cost reduction program.
You will oversee and manage the site calibration programme to ensure continuous audit readiness and ensure all craft personnel are fully trained in areas identified as essential to the safe performance of their tasks.
This role will also involve liaising with electrical contractors on site to ensure work is carried out to site safety standards and to a high level of competence and with production to build efficient, effective, and clear maintenance focussed KPIs to help reduce plant downtime and production losses.
Contributing to developing a continuous improvement culture amongst the craft electrical personnel will also be a part of this position.

What you'll get in return
Applicants must hold an Electrical Engineering degree and a minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance management in the food industry is desirable.
Strong electrical background and experience using a CMMS (PEMAC) system is essential.
Knowledge of ATEX regulations would be beneficial.
Other key skills include strong organisational skills and multi-tasking ability, attention to detail and effective communication skills.
