Education Assistant | 9 month Assignment | National Museum of Ireland Dublin | €101.95 + DOE per day

As Education Assistant you will join the National Museum of Ireland who are known as Ireland's leading museum institution, with a strong emphasis on national and some international archaeology, Irish history, Irish art, culture, and natural history. Your new office is located in Dublin City and is accessible via public transport. NMI requires you to join their team on a 9 month assignment. This role will be rostered 5 days over 7, typically Tuesday-Saturday.
Your new role
As Education Assistant you will join the Education team at NMI-Natural History, providing administrative support. Your duties will include but are not limited to general administration for public and schools programmes; maintenance of learning spaces onsite and co-ordination of stocking and displays of onsite self-directed learning resources; managing communication about onsite group bookings with front of house staff including the generation of weekly timetables for Natural History; assistance with coordination of the Freelance Guides Panel at Natural History; working on maintenance and development of the Engage & Learn web pages which relate to the work of the Education Department; online event support, including assistance with the technology for live streaming and recording; collection and collation of data on audience events and online resources programming; assisting with event information for NMI newsletter; keeping up to date with developments in exhibitions, resources, and programming; working as a member of the Education team on financial administration, processes and reports and all general administrative and ad-hoc duties that fall into your new role.

What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally have recent relevant experience in an administrative role. You will require strong IT skills including Word, Excel and Access. Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills with the ability to prioritise your workload and meet tight deadlines is necessary. Experience in web content editing (Kentico) is desirable. A good eye for the detail along with the ability to prioritise is essential. A qualification in Science, Education, Museum or Heritage Studies or relating to History, Archaeology, Zoology, Science, Geology, Heritage or a combination of any of the aforementioned is desirable, along with knowledge of the Irish language, experience in the museum or heritage sector and/or experience working with technology required for the production of online events including pre and post production is advantageous.
With clear and relevant examples of your career achievements within a similar environment with proficient administration skills you will be a very strong candidate for this role.
