Your new company is one of Ireland’s leading Public Lighting contractors, responsible for the maintenance of over 90,000 street lights on behalf of 3 local authorities in the Republic of Ireland.We have an exciting career opportunity for a Contracts Supervisor with a strong Civils Background primarily based in our Dublin Depot. Reporting to the Contracts Manager you will provide site supervision for all civil work packages and full control from concept through to completion and handover.
Your new role
You will provide supervision to operational teams in support of business and company goals and targets while actively promoting a positive safety culture; monitor and control the team safety performance to ensure all Company and Customer safety rules and procedures are applied by staff and Contractors.You will liaise with various clients, local authorities and non-local authorities within the assigned area and assist with pre delivery stage of public lighting projects to include on-site survey works for new lighting schemes which involves assessing suitable column positions and the preparation of drawings, risk assessments, schedules and associated works.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a working knowledge of some of the following AutoCAD, MS Office and an ability to read construction drawings and must have a trade or third level qualification relevant to civil engineering contracting industry. Excellent understanding of the civil sector / construction industry with very strong Commercial awareness is vital. A good understanding of Electrical Safety and knowledge of Public Lighting installations while demonstrating the ability to work independently, with initiative, delivering against defined targets. Have the ability to create, compose and edit written materials, appropriate to the role.
Skills beneficial to this role:
- Possess a full clean driving licence (C Licence is preferable)
- Safe Pass
- Sign, lighting and Guarding certificate.
- Forklift Licence
- Certs for MEWP
- Hiab/crane experience
- LUGS training and cert
- 180 or 360 excavator cert
- Good IT skills
