Contracts Manager required to oversee business development and management of civil construction works.

Your new company

Your new company is involved in various civils projects across Ireland. They are now seeking to recruit a Project / Contracts Manager. There is a large business development side to this role as well as tendering and managing projects on site once secured. The role would suit someone from a civil / roads background, but candidates from a building construction background will also be considered. Contracts Manager duties may include the following:
  • Responsible for managing the development of new business opportunities and partnerships for projects, ensuring that the company has maximum market exposure along with ensuring their clients and partners receive a high-quality service
  • Build strong relationships with your clients and own any bids through to the project being secured and oversee its completion on site.
  • Build out your customer base and make it your own as you will be involved in the early development stage of projects both from a sales and engineering perspective.
  • Provide Technical advice to clients (Design, products, pricing)
  • Assist in the engineering of technical solutions to overcome potential issues
  • Manage Project Handovers to operations to ensure seamless transition from award to delivery
  • Proactively contribute to the development of the commercial team and business strategy
  • Ensure contract negotiations on terms and conditions are concluded successfully
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals
  • Skilled in negotiations including contracts, with keen interest in closing deals and building sustainable relationshipswith a diverse range of clients
  • Completion of pre-construction condition surveys on projects prior to works commencing
  • Programming and scheduling of works to maximise the efficiency of allocated resources
  • Planning and co-ordination of crews and subcontractors
  • Assisting with the compilation of budget costing for the commercial team
  • Delivering projects within timelines, budget and compliant with agreed scope and quality
What you will need:
Civil Engineering Degree / Trade background
Computer skills – Office, Excel, Windows, Outlook,
Strong awareness of civil engineering, site works, plant and equipment
