Your new role
- Conduct your work in a safe manner - ensuring that all works are carried out to the highest Health and Safety standards and are compliant with all building regulations
- Ensure that site managers and operatives clearly understand the information provided.
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with work colleagues and Clients.
- Review detailed design, critique, and communicate with the design team to ensure adequate design is available for construction.
- Complete engineering drawings, (e.g., steel) in a timely and organised fashion ahead of that project start date.
- Resolving design and development problems.
- Ensure setting-out information is relevant and available in a format that can be easily communicated on site.
- Reading & interpreting drawings for layouts, materials measure etc.
- Planning works in an efficient manner to ensure project deadlines are achieved.
- Scheduling material and equipment purchases and delivery.
- Ensuring projects run smoothly, and the structure is completed within budget and on time.
- Ensure work is carried out to the highest of quality standards and certified for completion.
What you'll need to succeed
- A third level degree in Structural Engineering.
- Should be chartered with Engineers Ireland.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a site engineer.
- Experience working with a main contractor, subcontractor, surveying firm or similar preferred.
- Good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project etc.
- Ideally suitable candidates would be adept in the use of BIM related software and willing to train in new software applications.
- Proactive and driven person with a strong desire to make progress backed by a strong level of construction knowledge.
